Day One of Washington, DC

After we checked into our camp, Cherry Hill Park, we decided to try our legs and do some Metro rides and learn where we needed and wanted to be the next several days. So we bought a pass card and off we went.  It did not take too much time to learn how to find our way around DC and it sure did not take much time to find out how much walking we would be doing!

First stop was Freer Gallery.  There was a lot of Asian art on display from as far back as before Christ. It is hard to believe how fine the pieces from that time are.  I was in awe.

Ross stood behind these pieces so you can see how delicate a glass they are.03-31-14 DC 3003-31-14 DC 31I loved these liquid vessels.  Wish I had one!03-31-14 DC 3203-31-14 DC 33So cool!03-31-14 DC 3603-31-14 DC 37This room was called the Peacock Room and it was a special exhibit. The pottery and colors in the room were just exquisite!03-31-14 DC 3903-31-14 DC 4103-31-14 DC 42Jewelry!  This picture just does not do it justice.03-31-14 DC 43Outdoor sculpture.  I want more pictures but the outside gallery was closing.  03-31-14 DC 50

That ended our first day in Washington.  Short but very productive!
