Football and soccer

Well, the Zane played football and soccer this weekend and Zachary finally got to play a football game on Monday.  The rain has let up but we did not a wet field this weekend for Zane’s games.

On Saturday Zane played football then immediately turned around and played soccer.  Sunday he only played football but that was due to scheduling. Both games on Sunday were at the same time and Zane opted for football. He loves playing football.

For now it is flag football but he is so ready to play tackle.  That is not until 4th grade.  Whew!09-21-13 Zane football 0109-21-13 Zane football 1409-21-13 Zane football 1609-21-13 Zane football 1909-21-13 Zane football 20He is a pretty good soccer player too.  But Saturday he was just a little sluggish in both.  Sunday was better.09-21-13 Zane soccer 0509-21-13 Zane soccer 0709-21-13 Zane soccer 1809-21-13 Zane soccer 25

Zachary finally got to play a real game in football.  They played a local junior high, Travis.  Zachary’s positions are kicker, quarterback, and defensive line (not sure what exactly.  Bad Nana!). So right off the bat he had to do the kickoff.  Not bad!!  But he is really a pretty good kicker.

CORRECTION!!  Zachary’s defensive position is Corner Back.

See those orange shoes. There were times that is how I found him on the field.  They were the only bright orange shoes on the field.09-23-13 Zachary football 01Ready for kickoff.09-23-13 Zachary football 0409-23-13 Zachary football 0509-23-13 Zachary football 10Looks good.09-23-13 Zachary football 11Now on to quarterback.  Ross called him Peyton Manning the way he directs the other players. 09-23-13 Zachary football 1709-23-13 Zachary football 2409-23-13 Zachary football 29Right after this pass he got tackled.09-23-13 Zachary football 3709-23-13 Zachary football 60Another kickoff.09-23-13 Zachary football 65He seems to have the form down.Blurry pictures but you get the idea.09-23-13 Zachary football 7109-23-13 Zachary football 7209-23-13 Zachary football 73

This weekend I get to go to Dallas and watch Zachary play soccer.  Hopefully I will get some pictures!

Changing skies

I have always love the clouds in August but did not seem to see so much this year.  Maybe I was too busy with travel and stuff.  Anyway, here are some skies the last couple of nights I thought were pretty.

We seemed to have several jets doing test runs and leaving contrails. Really pretty.09-12-13 sunset 0709-12-13 sunset 0909-12-13 sunset 1109-12-13 sunset 12Tonight…09-16-13 Sunset 0509-16-13 Sunset 08We have had several storms today so the clouds have been pretty.09-16-13 Sunset 1109-16-13 Sunset 1209-16-13 Sunset 15

I was hoping for more football pictures but the game was cancelled due to lightening. Zachary has been made starting kicker!  Pretty cool. He is still one of the quarterbacks too.  Can’t wait to see a game.

Thanks for looking!

Fall–flowers and football!

I have been quite remiss on my blog since we got back from vacation!  Sad. I guess I should make a pact with myself to blog weekly at least.  Could be quite boring.

My zinnias, dahlias, and other flowers really started blooming.

Roses are looking good too!

And now for some FOOTBALL!  I know the pros started a couple of weeks ago but Zachary started his 7th grade football season with a scrimmage today!  He is a quarterback and plays defense some too but I cannot remember the position.  Hmmmm.  Cornerback or safety maybe?  Anyway, this was an interesting game as we had no idea what his number would be and all those boys look the same on the field. Also, both teams wore blue and white.  Blue with white letters or white with blue letters.  We were home but really thought we were the blue with white letters.  We looked for Zachary forever. Finally Mike went around to the other side of the field.  We had been watching the wrong team.  We were the white team!!!  Sheesh.  Then Kathleen said that made sense as home is usually the white team.  Zachary needs to wear bright socks or something so we can find him next time.

This game he is #20.DSC_1048Not sure what this kid was telling them.  DSC_1049OK, on the field.DSC_1050See the arrow – that’s him.DSC_1054DSC_1052DSC_1053He is there somewhere.DSC_1056DSC_1058DSC_1059Back off and just a few plays more and it was over. DSC_1060

Can’t wait until next Monday for another one!
