We started out on Aug. 6, 2013 for Trinidad Lake State Park. We had never been there and Dan thought it might be a good place for a couple of nights.
On the way up Raton Pass we ran into a hail storm that had us getting a little antsy. It was hard and heavy.
Trinidad Lake State Park is a very pretty park but if you plan on fishing, get ready for a hike. It is quite a hike to the lake. We never got down there but just played in the rain at our site.

They boys played well together.A lesson in how to strike a real match! Funny how we take these things for granted.Waiting for dinner.
We took a side trip to explore Cuchara and Bear Lake and Blue Lake. Fishing was lousy there. Fishing was lousy everywhere we went so this was just a warning. And we had more rain.
Day 2 coming up!
