The egg dying ritual

I have a feeling it will not be long before this practice is curtailed by one participant.  Then it will not be long until the other one decides it is time to quit.  Sigh.  Gotta enjoy while we can.

Ross giving pointers?04-07-12-dying-eggs-03 We did a couple of things different this year.  Tried the koolaid dying.  Nope, won’t do that again.  It did not work and I think it was actually more expensive than buying the dye.  We made blue with just drops of food coloring, water, and vinegar.  That worked the best.  Also tried using whisks for the egg holder.  Nope, you need a much deeper bowl for these.04-07-12-dying-eggs-04 Good thing we have boys.  We always take off their shirts for this whole process.04-07-12-dying-eggs-05 04-07-12-dying-eggs-08 Mike was getting fancy.04-07-12-dying-eggs-10 04-07-12-dying-eggs-11 04-07-12-dying-eggs-12 04-07-12-dying-eggs-14 Zachary’s hands were much cleaner this year.  So no picture of those hands.04-07-12-dying-eggs-15 04-07-12-dying-eggs-16 04-07-12-dying-eggs-17 This was Mike’s fancy egg.  We had lots of burnt orange eggs until we said ENOUGH!04-07-12-dying-eggs-19 04-07-12-dying-eggs-20 04-07-12-dying-eggs-23 A little more colors now.04-07-12-dying-eggs-24 04-07-12-dying-eggs-25 04-07-12-dying-eggs-27 Success!  Ready for some hiding!
