To the zoo with preschoolers!

Thursday I went to the Amarillo Zoo with twelve preschoolers.  OK, not me by myself!  With Zane’s school group.  They were all VERY well behaved.  The animals were up and moving and viewable for the most part.  It started out a very cool morning but no wind. 

Here we are waiting to go in when the zoo opens.  It was busy there.  Lots of school groups! First stop was the lizard/snake house - Herpetarium.     Indoors and warm. Next we stopped to see the buffalo, elk, and pronghorn antelope.  We were really lucky as they were right by the pavilion.  You could almost touch them!   Watching the monkeys… Lemurs… Wish the peacock would have spread his feathers. Mrs. Amanda and her daughter Lions and Tigers and And leopards… Bears are later. The wallabies…and Zane and Leo A serval.  Yes, I thought for the longest it was an ocelot. Potty break.Smart teachers brought water, snacks AND blankets! Then we lined up to go to the playground. And passed by the bears – finally out for us to see.     Had to grab a quick group photo.  You can barely see the ones behind the sign.  Hmmm, poor planning.  And then they played out a lot of energy on the playground. So much fun!!

Easter

We woke up to a very cloudy, overcast sky, wondering how we were going to hunt Easter eggs if it stayed this way.  But God was smiling on us and we had a beautiful day.  Everyone came with food and laughter to share the day.   After eating the adults went out back and hid the eggs. Bruce did hide one – right by his foot!  Took forever to find it too.   Kids outside, lined up – Ready, Set, GO!… When the kids thought they had found all the eggs Deedie told them to find the dyed eggs with numbers on them. She traded them for plastic eggs with MONEY in them!  That was a fun game.  But after gathering it was discovered two were still missing.  The scramble ensued until all eggs were found – we hop
