Snow, snow snow!

I know a lot of you are tired of snow but here in the Texas Panhandle we have not had that much this year and I love the snow.  Since we are not going skiing this year (saving for Disney!) I just have not had my “fix”.  Well, the last two weeks we have had record lows and lots of blowing snow.  This last one was enough to close schools for a day.

This is what it looked like out my north kitchen window when I got up yesterday morning.02-09-11 snow 01Looking out the back door.  No steps!02-09-11 snow 11  02-09-11 snow 02 The drifts were really tall and had lots of people locked in their house if the drift was on the garage side!02-09-11 snow 10 These are taken today.  We had a record low of –5 again this morning and supposed to hit only 30 for the high.  That means no melting.  But roads are getting plowed and everyone is out and moving, slowly, around town.02-10-11 the snow 02

02-10-11 the snow 06  There were some really interesting patterns in the snow.  02-10-11 the snow 08 This one just kind of popped up behind the trailer.  Strange.02-10-11 the snow 09 And the icicles are starting.02-10-11 the snow 10

02-10-11 the snow 11 I hear we are supposed to be near 70 next week.  Typical Texas Panhandle.
