Tradition – with a bit of a change up this year

Every year since Zachary was little he and I have pulled the wishbone of the turkey.  Usually long after everyone has gone home and we are finishing cleaning the kitchen.  This year we had a little change up.  Zane is now old enough to pull the wishbone. 

It was a slick wishbone and took Zane a few tries to get hold of it.

Finally… Zachary won – barely!  These two pieces were so close.  You can see they weren’t so glad about the yucky hands.  And all he wished for was – everything on his Christmas wish list.

Some good examples of WHY I wanted my new camera

Not because of the zoom – thank goodness because I need WAY more zoom.  Because of the action shots and the clarity of my pictures.  Ross was not impressed with my zoom and wondered why I needed, as opposed to wanted, this camera.  Then I showed him the action shots.  Oh, yeah, baby!

See these ducks in flight.  With very little blur.  And that blur is probably me, not the camera.  I do notice some of my pictures are dark so I need to play with the white balance. Here are the boys chunkin’ pumpkins.  What fun for them! There goes Zachary’s pumpkin through the air.  Still has not landed.  And now Zane’s. This is really cool.  Oh, don’t mine that shadow.  Sometimes you just have to capture the moment and not worry about the rest.  See Zane up in the air.  And down on the pumpkin.  How cool is that capture of the action! Another one throwing the pumpkin.  This one is pretty neat. Throwing the pumpkins over the fence for the horses.  They seemed to like it.  Hope it was ok! I can’t wait now for Zachary’s basketball season.  Anxious to see what it does then!

The Pied Piper with his waterfowl

Yep, you heard it.  Right here in the Texas Panhandle.  We went to feed the ducks and geese today, and whatever other birds showed up.  As soon as we stepped out of the car the birds came honking, quacking, just generally making noise.  And in a hurry.  Zane was panicking!  But Zachary just started walking backward – and they followed him!  He kept backing and they kept following Meanwhile, Zane was really having a time so many swarming him. And Zachary kept feeding… Now Zane was begging to go to the car! But eventually he calmed down. Love the swans! I think the whole thing took us about ten minutes!  But was great fun.

That says scary.  Very scary.  But he loves it.

He made himself a ramp. Notice how concerned the guys were. But every time he popped that front up Then rolled off I about had a heart attack.

Zane’s first choir appearance

They are just so cute.  And sang very well.  Tried and true “Jesus Loves Me”.  Actually opening the mouth and singing! See the hand actions? This was the second service of three that Zane sang at.  When his mama picked him up after the third service he asked if he had to sing again.  When told no he said good, as it was getting boring singing the same song.  So funny!

Monopoly – the game

How long has it been since you played Monopoly?  Ever played with a four year old?  Well, it is a whole new game.  But a great way to spend a cold snowy day. I think there were a lot of rule changes!
