Back in the swing of life

We are back to the babysitting, watching the skies, and life.  Zane will start pre-school next week and that will mean more changes.  This week he seems to be really missing Zachary and having playmates because he is wearing us out.  Tomorrow I am going to the library with him for books and hopefully projects to work on.  He does start soccer soon so we will see how that goes.
Baseball.  Zane loves baseball.  He told me today he is going to play baseball – when he is six.  I am not sure that T-Ball will do it.  He can really hit a pitched ball.

 Yep, barefooted.
How do you like the brick for home plate?

Tap, tap, tap the base.

Now we just have to work on not throwing the bat!
Zachary started tackle football this week.  So far he loves it.  But he has only had one day of practice with pads on.  I am anxious to see how it all goes.  Of course, it is 4th grade so there is a lot of learning to do yet.  And bruises.  Hopefully I will have pictures soon.
Sunrise was pretty this morning.  Hoping it means rain – Red sky at morning, sailor take warning – you know the rhyme?

As always, thanks for looking at my blog and my pictures.  And for leaving a comment!!!
Back to trying to figure out tabs in blogs.  It is not going to whip me!

Last day of our vacation and probably the most beautiful campsite

Bear Lake, near Cuchara, was so pretty.  We have been here before.  Oh, never camping but skiing and stayed in a cabin a few times.  The guys caught lots of fish here one time.  But again, not this time.  Mike commented that he was very tired of watching his pole do nothing.

The stream ran right by our campsite.  It was so pretty but we did discover we kept thinking we had a water leak in the camper.  That was funny!

Back to real life.  Zachary starts school this week and Zane starts pre-school in two weeks.  Both are excited but Zane is over the top right now.  Zachary has a new experience this year too – 4th grade and changing classes.  The garden is winding down.  Soon it will be cold.  But I look forward to weather changes.

Thanks for checking my blog!

Twin Lakes, Independence Pass, and Aspen

Twin Lakes is just down the road from Turquoise Lake and located on Independence Pass, before it gets bad.  Campsites are not as pretty as Turquoise Lake but functional.  Same water.  Hard to fill a tank but they did have a good spigot at the dump station.  We got parked then headed over the pass to see Aspen.

There is a ghost town there called Independence Village.  They are trying to preserve it and eventually do a dig there if the money is ever available.  Really neat!
