I hate looking for a vehicle!

After our trip to Colorado last month, we decided we really might need to look at diesel trucks.  So we started shopping.  OH    MY    GOSH!   We are so picky.

Our current truck will seat six, a must with taking the boys and Kathleen and Mike with us, and has lots of cool features.  An automatic air conditioning system; radio controls on the steering wheel; moveable pedals; back up sensor; a readout for tires, mpg, instant mpg, and so forth; power seat (can’t believe they still put manual seats in vehicles!).  We have put nice running boards on it and a bed cover, wonderful in bad weather to keep stuff dry. 09-05-08 New Truck 005 09-05-08 New Truck 001 small08-15-10 Turquoise Lake 28 OK, so we are spoiled.  But I like it.  I just don’t want to pay what they want for a USED diesel with 150,000 miles. “Oh, that is nothing for a diesel!”  Bah!  Or they smell of stale smoke.  Yeah, that is what I like to smell.  Hey, Ross used to smoke so I understand.  However, if you want to sell a car later, quit smoking in it!  Even Ross will go “Whew!  This was a smoker!”.

Then it comes down to what kind.  Ross wants a Dodge. Wanted a Dodge.  Dodge needs to find a better idea.  The front seat where the sixth person can sit is not very good.  Tight.  And the back seat is not really a crew cab.  More like an extended cab, unless you go with the mega cab.  But the front seat still has problems.  The the ride is rough.  So no Dodge.

The Ford is good but – the motor they used to use is crap.  Or so Ross says and he does the research.  And believe me, he researches.  A lot!  I think the new ones are ok.  We just have not found one with the correct motor.

GMC/Chevrolet is our choice.  Of course, we are GMC fans anyway.  Took one for a drive today but there were several things missing and I just could not love the truck.  And it growled at take off going down the road.  I know, diesels are kind of noisy but even the sales person wondered what that noise was.

So, back to the net and the searching and the looking at lots here.  We will find something, sometime.  Sigh.

Oh, and on top of this we are looking at buying a generator for the trailer!  Save me now!
