Twin Lakes is just down the road from Turquoise Lake and located on Independence Pass, before it gets bad. Campsites are not as pretty as Turquoise Lake but functional. Same water. Hard to fill a tank but they did have a good spigot at the dump station. We got parked then headed over the pass to see Aspen.
The boys were really interested in the skate park. Ski area. We will probably never ski here. Flowers were GORGEOUS! Independence Pass was great. Beautiful. And very switch back. I am glad we heeded the warnings and did not take the trailer across it! If you think about it, don’t!!!
There is a ghost town there called Independence Village. They are trying to preserve it and eventually do a dig there if the money is ever available. Really neat! Back at camp playing with the iphone! No fish here either. And S’mores again.
And some beautiful skies! Last leg of the trip later. Or maybe tomorrow!
