Bear Lake, near Cuchara, was so pretty. We have been here before. Oh, never camping but skiing and stayed in a cabin a few times. The guys caught lots of fish here one time. But again, not this time. Mike commented that he was very tired of watching his pole do nothing.
The stream ran right by our campsite. It was so pretty but we did discover we kept thinking we had a water leak in the camper. That was funny!
The boys loved playing in the stream. Zane found a huge toadstool. Really beautiful. Some really cool mushrooms/toadstools! We threw some bread out and got lots of birds – gray jays, stellar jay, juncos. A squirrel and chipmunk showed up too. Shhhhh! Don’t tell. And this is the view out our dining room window. Really nice. Really nice trip. Next time I really want to sit at a campsite for a few days. Campsite jumping is exhausting!
Back to real life. Zachary starts school this week and Zane starts pre-school in two weeks. Both are excited but Zane is over the top right now. Zachary has a new experience this year too – 4th grade and changing classes. The garden is winding down. Soon it will be cold. But I look forward to weather changes.
Thanks for checking my blog!
